Hello, I’m Diana
I am a writer and blogger. I am passionate about cultivating holistic well-being, which is a lifelong journey. I love all things health and nutrition. I enjoy walking, yoga, the concept of food as medicine, movies, plays, symphonies, reading books, music, especially jazz and classical, and decaf coffee black with a spoonful of honey. Rainy days in the fall season are my favorite time of the year. Follow me @RealDianaHochman.
About Me
I was born in Los Angeles, CA, and I grew up in Sacramento, CA. I am of largely European descent, mostly Spanish and Portuguese. I also have Native American ancestry. I have no memory of my mother, as she was a victim of homicide when I was only 2 years and 5 months. That tragedy set the stage for what would turn out to be a life riddled with instability, and nearly insurmountable odds. The struggles I endured molded me into an empathetic, introspective and curious individual.
My greatest strengths are resilience and tenacity. A great sense of humor is also one of the most important tools in my life. I can’t live without it. I started writing in 1995, first poetry and then blogging in 2005. Some trivia: I once studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York City in 1998. Now, I am into trauma healing of the body-mind-spirit by using yoga and diet and similar modalities to foster a rest and digest paradigm that re-frames the fight and flight mode.
